A clear eye opener to the potential of Wazuka terroir.
In November 2021 we received a beautiful parcel with several tea samples that represented Wazuka; Hata Shingo’s (畑新悟) shade grown kabuse was a wonderful stand-out, with the most beautiful, lingering mouthfeel.We learned that Hata San’s tea had sold out in June.Inevitably, we pre-ordered some 2022 tea to share through the Steamed Tea Club.
Origin: Wazuka (Kyoto) Japan
Grower: Hata Shingo (畑新悟) recently became obsessed with perfecting this particular style of tea.
Cultivar:Uji Midori (宇治みどり) is a cultivar developed in Kansai and mostly used for shade grown teas.We have very little experience with it, but Hata San’s kabuse cha is very strong encouragement to learn more!
