Experience: a favourite tea to drink in the open air this spring. Vibrant conifer notes followed by 'just ripe' stone fruit and pleasant, mild astringency.
Waiting for the release of Yoshida San's 2022 shincha (in a couple of weeks), we received the last few packs of this tea to celebrate spring under our cherry trees.
Farming & Handcrafting: this tea was harvested in early May 2021, in one of Yoshida San's warmest gardens, exposed to full sun-light. In Japanese, these type of tea gardens are described as 露天園 (the kanji translate as 'jade-heaven-garden'); this results in leaves with lighter green colour but very powerful forest notes.
The tea is processed as 'asamushi' or lightly steamed.

About The Grower
Yoshida San is one of the most meticulous tea artists that we’ve met; the family has been making tea over roughly 300 years, and this is reflected obsessive attention to detail. In recent years, Yoshida San has launched some single cultivar and two cultivar blends that we are very impressed with.
