Powerful leaves; rustically crafted yet loaded with flavour, this style of tea is the favourite of most Vietnamese people.
The ride starts with a a smooth and deceptively simple profile; as this tea unfurls, notes of wax beans give way to an aromatic finish which reminds us of the fragrant qualities of Oleo-Saccharum.
Trà shan tuyết (Snow Mountain Tea) grows in the highlands of Northwest Vietnam. These trees may live several hundred years and are often found 'wild' (or at least un-groomed for decades) in the mountains. They were named 'snow mountain' because young leaves are covered in beautiful white down.
This cultivar is known for it's powerful 'forest' aroma, a golden brew and pleasant bitterness.
