A LOADED cooked Pu Er: thick, syrupy, with notes of molasses, underbrush and leather.
Made with leaves from 200 year old trees, these Puer Nuggets are a fortuitous byproduct of the fermentation process. When puer tea is pile fermented, the heat and humidity cause some leaves to develop more pectin than others, resulting in tightly rolled leaves. These rolled leaves are then separated out when the rest of the batch is pressed into their familiar tea cake form.
