This is a very approachable, easy to brew, old tree cooked Pu Er, with characteristic notes of leather and dates. The leaves are quite small, with hues ranging from dark brown to golden. The first sip tingles the taste buds, starting with a semi-dry feeling that soon turns to sweetness in the palate.
This tea is conveniently pressed in a ‘tablet’ with 9 portions, dosed for a gaiwan (or teapot) that contains between 90ml - 110ml; we find that, brewing the tea gong-fu style, each portion will yield at least 9 delicious steeps. You don't need a tea knife to get perfectly sized portions!
The tea was harvested in March 2019 and pressed on June 1, 2019.
