Green happiness. Every spring since 2008, receiving and drinking Kim Jong Yeol's sejak has been a highlight.
The leaves were picked by hand by Kim Jong Yeol personally and his family. The handcrafting technique is similar to that of Zisun (from Changxing, China) and Kamairicha (from Kochi, Japan). However, the scrawny, beautiful, >70 year old heirloom tea trees on the slopes of Mt. Jiri yield a very different flavour.
Mr. Kim is one of the most detail obsessed tea growers that we've ever met.
His tea garden is not a mono-culture but a beautiful eco-system with fruit trees and other edible weeds.

About The Grower
Kim Jong Yeol is one of our favourite farmers, anywhere. He left a corporate life in Busan to work on his family farm in Hadong. Some of the trees are over 80 years old, spread randomly across hill slopes. The teas are personally handcrafted in micro-batches. Each lot is unique; every lot is consistently outstanding.
